Go Vote!
You Already Did? GREAT

It’s November 5. Have you voted yet? If not, what are you doing reading this? GET OUT AND VOTE!
If you have already voted, thank you for your service to our democracy, which ever way you voted. Taking the time to go to the polls, whether early or on election day, matters. Your willingness to engage in our political process makes our democracy better. So celebrate with your friends and family, alcohol optional.
But, don’t think for a minute that our work is done. We have already seen a proliferation of disinformation, and that will only get worse should the results be contested. Plus, there will be more elections to come, and our voters will continue to turn to the League for help.

Take care and stay safe.

A Call to Action
Let's Celebrate

I think it’s time to celebrate all the good work the League has done for our community. And by that I mean all the good work YOU have done for the League. And let's be honest, your work for the League is work for our community. We reach people most other organizations don't. Your contributions also reinforce the values the League brings to our community.
We should know all the local results from today’s election, including the ballot issues we’ve worked so hard on, sometime tonight. Stay tuned to your favorite source for local news.
Our state will either have joined states like Kansas and Ohio which have taken direct control of reproductive and medical privacy rights, or we will be an outlier. Our state will either have joined thirteen other states in requiring employers to provide paid family leave, or we will continue to punish low-wage workers for getting sick, or taking care of family members who are.
Of course, we are unlikely to know the national results tonight. In fact, it may be a week or more before we know for sure what our federal government looks like.

Regardless of the results, know that your work helped elevate the discussion about the critical needs in our society. If our ballot initiatives don’t pass this time, we have taken an important first step towards improving Missouri, and perhaps our country.
So, take a moment to recover and relax. Enjoy your normal family activities again. Take in a game or a movie. Go on a date with your significant other. Make yourself an adult beverage.
I know I will.

Take care and stay safe.
