What the League is doing


On April 17, 2025, the League of Women Voters of the United States launched Unite and Rise 8.5, an initiative to mobilize 8.5 million voters to protect democracy. Since then, the League of Women Voters continues to DEFEND DEMOCRACY. 

July 21, 2026 - The League of Women Voters joined other nonpartisan voting rights groups to request the courts block USPS mail-in ballot restrictions. 

July 16, 2026 - The League of Women Voters denounces President's claims about election security
June 4, 2026 - The League of Women Voters  reacts to Supreme Court's decision on Alabama's congressional map.

Apr. 29, 2026 - The League of Women Voters condemns Supreme Court decision weakening voting rights protections. 

Apr. 2, 2026 - The League of Women Voters in partnership with other voting rights organizations sues to challenge Executive Order restricting mail-in ballots. 

Feb. 4, 2026: The League of Women Voters condemns call to nationalize elections. 

Jan. 26, 2026: The League of Women Voters responds to escalating actions by I.C.E. that put people and their Constitutional rights at risk.

What you can do


Submit questions for candidates Six candidate forums for Missouri General Assembly races are scheduled in October. Let us know the questions you want candidates to answer.  And be sure to check the website calendar to find the forum for candidates in your community.

➑️ Join Unite and Rise 8.5 and commit to defend democracy.

 ➑️ Urge Congress to restrain Federal immigration enforcement.
➑️ Learn simple strategies to refute online misinformation. 

➑️ Let your Senators and Representatives know how the budget bill signed on July 4 will affect you. Keep the Medicaid in Missouri fact sheet handy. 

➑️ VOTE in every election! Watch this short video to learn why your vote matters. Make sure you are  registered to vote by October 7 for the November 3 general election.
