What are membership dues?

▶  Individual Members: $75 per year is the recommended amount or pay what you can — as little as $20 per year.

▶  You can add a second member ($150 total for both recommended, $40 for both minimum), but they each will need to provide a unique email address.

▶  Life members: In appreciation of their dedication to democracy, Life Members (members for more than 50 years) are exempt from membership dues.

Where do my dues go?

Dues are distributed to three different Leagues.

▪  League of Women Voters of the U.S. (LWV) receives 33% of your dues.
▪  League of Women Voters of Missouri (LWVMO) receives 47%.
▪  League of Women Voters of Kansas City (LWVKC) receives 20%.

These three Leagues work together, so 100% of your dues are used to Defend Democracy and Empower Voters!

How can I pay for my membership in the League of Women Voters?

You have three options for paying dues.

1.  The preferred payment option is a direct bank transfer (ACH transfer), which minimizes fees. You’ll need your financial institution's routing number and your account number.

2. You also have the option to pay by credit or debit card.

3.  If you prefer, you can pay by check

 ▪  Print and complete the LWV membership form. Remember to include the name and email address of any additional household member included in the dues amount.
 ▪  Make your dues check payable to LWVUS.
 ▪  Mail your check and membership form to:

League of Women Voters of Kansas City
         P.O. Box 10416

Additional information:

▪  You will receive an online confirmation and an email receipt for your payment.

▪  ONLY the local League portion of the membership dues will be tax-deductible. The email receipt will show the 20% of your dues going to our local League and can serve as your tax-receipt.

▪ Your membership dues payment will show up as three transactions on your account — one each to LWVKC, LWVMO, and LWVUS. You’ll be a member of all three!
